ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi tell news people say d education body don submit proposal give federal government and dem never still see reply from FG, so dem no go attend any meeting with dem until dey give dem reply.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige bin call for d meeting and d people wey him invite na d Minister of Education wey be Mallam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, Chairman for National Income Salaries and Wages Commission, Executive Secretary National Universities Commission with d President of Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba.

“As we dey try do everything to make sure say we end dis strike wey Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU start, d Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, tomorrow (wey be today) by 12noon go meet with d President and Executive of ASUU.
“Government delegates wey go dey d meeting na Minister of Education, Minister of Finance, Chairman National Income Salaries and Wages Commission, Executive Secretary National Universities Commission and the President of d Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
“D minister bin talk say ASUU bin promise dem for dia last meeting wey dem do for Thursday, August 17, 2017, say dem go take d offer wey Federal Government give, back to dia members den after one week, dem go give dem reply.
“Senator Chris Ngige don call on ASUU say make dem show good faith as d Federal Government don already demonstrate commitment as dem dey try settle d wahala of the Union.”
When Vanguard call d National President of ASUU, Prof. Abiodun Ogunyemi, for phone, yesterday, to know howfar with d strike, him talk say dem still dey consult diaself and anything wey dem conclude, dem go tell d public.
ASUU wey bin don declare indefinite strike two weeks ago, as FG fail to implement agreements wey dem get for d union since 2009.
When d strike start, Ogunyemi say make no lecturer teach, exam no go dey and make nobody attend any kind of statutory meetings for all dia branches across d country.
But after dia meeting on Saturday, Ogunyemi talk say dem go attend meeting later only if dem get reply from federal government.
Him say ASUU don meet, dey don discuss d new offer from FG and dem submit dia own proposal too give dem but dem never collect reply yet.
