D leaders of d group for press conference bin announce d withdrawal of d quit notice for Abuja on Thursday evening.
Before dem bin make d announcement, d members of d group bin met with d Governor of Borno State, wey follow be d Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum, Mallam Ibrahim Shettima and former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kabiru Gaya.
People wey follow attend d meeting be ex-minister Sani Daura with d Leader of Arewa Youths Council, Alhaji Shettima Yerima and ogbonge Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo.
D group talk say dem decide to withdraw d threat based on d intense persuasive pressure from political, traditional and religious leaders for we country.
A member of d Northern Emancipation Network, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, na him read d text of d press conference.
“Dis one na based on say we bin talk with our den Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and as we follow d Presidency yan through d Special Assistant to d President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu.
“Na unto dese plenty plenty talks and meetings and as we be cultured people wit tradition wey be say we gatz respect for nation values, leaders and elders, we dey pleased today to announce say we don suspend d quit notice from d Kaduna Declaration.”
Suleiman talk say no be say we dey fear to stick to d notice wey we give o, na based on say we respect our nation and we want “united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”
Na 14 leaders of d groups sign d text, including Yerima, d leader of Youth Consultative Forum wey read d Kaduna Declaration, where dem bin give d quit notice.
Even wit d withdrawal of d quit notice, Suleiman yan say dem go still pursue dia petition to d United Nations with d call on the Federal Government to give d appropriate sanction to d Leader of d Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Him follow call “for d arrest of Nnamdi Kanu and make dem give am d appropriate punishment.
The group come promise say dem go “remain available for other meetings with other groups even dose ones from d South-East because say dey wan build a greater united Nigeria.”
For Governor Shettima short speech, him thank d group as dem take suspend d quit notice order, him still talk say d concern of d northern governors na to prevent people wey dey hide under d notice to harm other Nigerians.
Him talk say d need for a statement just to withdraw d quit notice bin no dey necessary as him talk say “we dey here to make sure say d quit notice, dem publicly withdraw am d same way dem announce am publicly.”
As d governor take put am, dem for don withdraw d order since before now but dem bin dey avoid any division for d groups.
